Moving continues

Cathy and I just had the last showing of our house and we close this
Friday. We are nervous, excited and scared at the same time.

Nothing is a done deal until you have the check in your hand, write that
down, especially in this housing market. We are expecting to go well and
shell out a hefty fee to be able to get back home. In the short term it
sucks, mid term going to be all right and in the long run we know it is the
obvious decision to make. As I always tell Cathy, "No matter where we have
been, where we are or where we're going as long as we are together; we will
be home."

Hei Matau

The Hai Matau - Legend holds that the north island of New Zealand was once
a huge fish caught by Maui, the great Mariner, using only a woven line and
bone hook. The fish hool remained lodged in the side of the fish and can be
seen today in the outline of Hawke's Bay. For the Maori, the Hei Matau
represents Strength, Prosperity, Fertility and a great respect for the Sea.
It is believed to provide safe passage over water, and has a special
significance as a gift.

With that said Cathy and I never got each other an actual wedding gift
because we wanted to do more on our Honeymoon in Maui. Almost two years
later I came across this symbol and necklace. I showed it to Cathy and it
just clicked that it is something that would fit our lifestyle perfectly.
So she ordered a white one and I a black one. We just got them yesterday
and already love them. We got ours from a great and small website

Starting "The Move"

Today Cathy and I are starting our move to the unknown. We are set to close
on our old house in the next two weeks and don't have solid plans on where
we are going from there. My older brother has been kind enough to let us
store stuff and crash at his house for a couple of months while we get more
permanent plans figured out.
This morning we are moving a bunch of the boxes we have already packed in
my little brothers band van and trailer, and under the damn near three feet
of snow and teens temps it should be an adventure....

2010 World's Toughest Rodeo

This evening we are planning on going to the World's Toughest Rodeo in Columbus, Oh. This will be my 9th year to the rodeo, and I definetly prefer it over the PBR. Each wear I get more and more people to go, and this year is going to be a fun one with 20 of us. We are all going to be in our Cowboy hats, and heading out on the town after the rodeo. I will be throwing up some pictures later on when I have them....

The Beginning

Hello Everyone and welcome to our blog.

Cathy and I frequently go on some wild adventures around the world, and get asked about them all the time. We have been to two World Youth Days (Toronto, Canada and Cologne, Germany); traveled around Europe including Paris, Bruge, Amsterdam, Cologne, Brussels; have traveled to the Caribbean several times; and most recently we took a three week road trip across the United States starting at home in Ohio going the northern route ending in the Sierra Nevada's before heading South through California and then back home. Those are some of our World Travels since we have been together, not to mention the many mini trips we make during weekends. We for sure put the Warrior in the phrase "Weekend Warrior".
We love to go hiking, snowmobiling, snowboarding, wakeboarding, fishing, boating, kayaking and pretty much anything else to do with the outdoors. We are both country kids, and nothing means home more than a gravel road. For our memory, and a more formal way to enjoy, express and share these adventures, we decided to create a blog.
Welcome and enjoy!!!
